Insurance is one of those decisions that no one enjoys. The truth is that most of us buy insurance because it is mandatory. Here is the truth behind insurance agencies... They lie... They lie by telling you the truth in a sophisticated way so that you don’t know that they are lying.
They spend billions on television commercials and personalities, to convince you that they are the "best insurance company" or "good people insurance company" or the "cheapest insurance company". The truth is that they make money by taking in more than they pay out, and only paying out when it is absolutely necessary for them to. They dedicate entire divisions to "cost containment", fancy words for "ways not to pay".
The insurance companies hire teams of lawyers to figure out ways not to have to pay legally, so that the insurance company is able to walk away legally and leave you with the bill.
Of course, the insurance companies will pay if it is in the course of doing business. In other words, sometimes it will cost more to fight a claim than to pay it. This is why insurance agents show up at disaster areas and start writing checks. Once they write the check the claim is settled and these are usually high profile cases so they want them settled. The insurance companies are smart!!!
So the question is how do you obtain insurance, and not be taken advantage of?
